Savaré Specialty Adhesives has been using Groupwise for almost 15 years. Originally, the company's overall satisfaction with the security and the customization of the system was very high, but over the years, the burden of an ever-increasing email database size slowed down search processes and presented challenges for the IT department, particularly with respect to the size of their backup and the time required to back up the system. Due to the international nature of the industry, and the different time zones the company operates in, Savaré also needed to ensure that their email system was available 24/7 to meet the needs of their overseas offices, which created additional challenges for the operations team. So Savaré Speciality Adhesives began to look at alternate solutions, some of which required a change in the email system architecture, and others which were better suited to their current GroupWise system. After implementing the Netmail Platform, Savaré was able to dramatically reduce the size of the GroupWise message store by archiving mail to a centralized XML repository after which the company saw an immediate increase in the responsiveness of the email system, a reduction in the time required to back up the system, and a reduction in the bandwidth involved in disaster recovery procedures.
Once the Netmail Platform was in place, the company was better able to address their eDiscovery requirements using the full text and proximity search features of Netmail Search.
